On the boulevard at night: the median is crowded again, save for the games space. Immaculate astroturf bears graphics for hopscotch, long jump, lawn darts, and something else I can't identify, blobby shapes labeled "sea" and "dry land." No one is playing. On a bench, the person I thought was a woman last week is vaguely awake, sitting up and scratching his grey beard. An electric guitar blares from an apartment far above, tuning up and sounding long tones. Electric bikes and skateboards drone arbitrary intervals, zooming in towards me, then away.
