Looking at footage of Holocaust Remembrance Day (I slept through the event): The sirens start at 10 AM. All traffic stops. Even on the highway, people get out of their cars and stand silently. I think I see people in motion in the distance, but, zooming in closer, it's just the rustling of flags in the wind. When the sirens end, people get back in their cars and drive again (at least until the next traffic jam). But for that moment, everyone there and people all over the country are joined in unity, in silence.
