It’s been a compressed day. There’s a holiday tonight and tomorrow. Unlike before the Sabbath, though, we don’t officially have the day off. The support team and I come in for about half the day. I finally escape from an interminable meeting at about 2 PM. I immediately head over to the House of Hundred Grandmothers. They’re still under quarantine. I get to speak to one family member and transfer some items through a ground floor window. On the way home, I walk by a father and two small boys washing an SUV. I barely avoid getting splashed and sprayed as I pass them on the narrow sidewalk. One of the boys laughs as I do a goofy dance move, ducking under a hose that spirals down from the top of a fence. Once home, I sit and try to figure out what I’ll do with the next two days. I did the usual Thursday night and Friday shopping last night, since stores are closed tonight and tomorrow. I didn’t get a challah, but I’ll survive without it. I have other things to do that I’ve put off until this weekend. Maybe I’ll get started on some of them.
