Younger members of the family come to my place for a light supper before the flight. It's the first time that any of them have been there. My apartment is not as neat as it might be, but it's as neat as it gets. Supper is haphazard; I had only been able to shop for groceries in the moment between yesterday's tour and the closing of the stores for the Sabbath. But they are content, nibbling at pita and dips, playing with a niece's dog, and making video calls back home. We go back to join the rest of the family at the House of a Hundred Grandmothers. We all promise to stay in closer touch, now that we've found the reasons and technologies to do so. After several cycles of hugs, they return to America. I return to work.
